MEXT scholarship to Japan

MEXT, the Ministry of Education, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan, is providing scholarships for foreign graduate students to study in Japan. You should apply for the field of study you majored in at university or its related field. And fields of study must be subjects which you will be able to study and research in graduate courses at Japanese universities.

Allowance:

  • Monthly stipend of 143,000 yen.
  • Traveling Costs.
  • Transportation to Japan.
  • Expenses such as domestic transportation from his/her home address to the international airport, airport tax, airport usage fees, special taxes on travel, or inland transportation within Japan will NOT be supplied.
  • Transportation from Japan.
  • School Fees.
Eligibility:
  • Age : -35.
  • Languages: English, Japanese.
  • Educational level: Bachelor
  • Other conditions:
  1. 70% Average, or 2.8 GPA (Grade Point Average) on graduation of your BA or BS degree.
  2. Find and choose three subjects and three professors: Finding universities and professors is a student's own responsibility.
  3. All documents, examinations (except the Japanese language exam) and procedures are in English.
  4. No need for TOEFL or IELTS or other English language qualification, but academic-level English is a must. Some Universities may require such tests' results.
  5. Japanese language skill, if available, does not add to your eligibility. It will help you immensely once you are in Japan, however, and is recommended.
How to apply:
Please submit to Embassy of Japan in Jordan by registered mail, courier, or in person.

[2] Placement Preference Form (download from the website)
[3] Field of Study and Research Program Plan
[4] Photograph (4.5×3.5 cm, taken within the past six months, upper body, full-faced, uncapped. Write your name and nationality on the reverse and paste them onto the Application Form (3 originals) and Placement Preference Form.
[6] Graduation certificate or degree certificate of the last university attended
[7] Recommendation form from the principal or the adviser of the last university attended
[8] Recommendation form from the present employer (if currently employed)
[9] Medical certificate [10]Abstracts of theses
[11] Photograph showing applicant's own works of art or a recorded CD of musical performance (only for those majoring in fine arts or music)
These documents must be written in either Japanese or English. A document written in any other language must be attached with a Japanese or English translation.
